Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Cultures, Tel Aviv University
The field trip to Athens and Attica will take place from March 8–15, 2026, and will be guided by Prof. Alexander Fantalkin and Prof. Oren Tal. The trip is organized by Tagliot, the Israeli Institute of Archaeology, and will focus on the archaeological and historical sites of the region, providing participants with an in-depth view of ancient cultures and their remains.

Day 1 – Sunday, March 8
Euboea:
–        Amphiareion of Oropos
–        Euboea: Lefkandi and Eretria
If time permits:
* Mount Lykavittos cable

Day 2 – Monday, March 9
Athens day 1:
–        Kerameikos
–        Greek Agora
–        Roman Agora
–        Library of Hadrian
–        Areopagus Hill

Day 3 – Tuesday, March 10
Athens day 2:
–        Acropolis
–        Acropolis Museum
–        Visit to the Labs at ASCSA
If time permits:
* Olympieion (Temple of Zeus)
* Lyceum of Aristotle
* Byzantine and Christian Museum

Day 4 – Wednesday, March 11
South Attica:
–        Brauron at Vravrona (the sanctuary of Artemis and museum)
–        Thorikos (site) and Laurion (mines)
–        Sounion Temple

Day 5 – Thursday, March 12
Northwest Attica:
–        Daphni Monastery
–        Hadrianic Bridge
–        Eleusis (site and museum)
–        Eleutherai
–        Aigosthena (Porto Germeno)

Day 6 – Friday, March 13
Northeast Peloponnese:
–        Corinth (sites and museum), Canal and Diolkos
–        Mycenae

Day 7 – Saturday, March 14
Aegina and Piraeus:
–        Piraeus (Site and Archaeological Museum)
–        Public Ferry to Aegina
–        Temple of Aphaia
If time permits:
* Temple of Apollo (site and museum)

Day 8 – Sunday, March 15
National Museum:
–        Athens National Museum
–        Mount Lykavittos cable (or another site that you missed from the plan)
–        transfer to Airport

Registration:
1. Complete your personal details using the attached link.
2. Pay the registration fee of ₪1,000 (non-refundable).
3. Afterwards we will contact you to arrange payment of the remaining balance in NIS, according to the current exchange rate. The payment can be made via bank transfer, check, or credit card (a 1% processing fee applies for credit card payments).

Person in Single Room: 2,710 Euro
Person in Double Room: 2,310 Euro
Person in Triple Room: 2,260 Euro

  • Price will increase by €150 on December 31.
  • Prices are based on a minimum of 30 students. If fewer than 30 students register, the tour price will increase.
  • The final payment will be adjusted according to the number of registered students. Any applicable discount will be deducted from this final payment.

 

Cancellation terms:

Cancellation after registration: €200
From December 21 to January 4: 30% of the total cost
From January 5 to February 1: 80% of the total cost
From March 2 until the tour: 100% of the total cost
